Hi friends ...please keep in mind I am a complete newb to linux based boxes..
Currently using image nlb6844v3 and no hard drive in my 9000 as yet..
Im trying to mount a directory on an pc running xp..
This is what i have done so far :-

created a user account on the pc named ipbox pass also ipbox ..
created directory on the c drive called movies and dropped a ts file in it just so I can check for contents later..then shared the directory (full access)
ftp into the ipbox ..and created directory called movies :-in /var/media/
>var/media/movies
under advanced setup > mount manager on the 9000
deatails as follows :-
Type - cifs
mount point - var/media/movies
server - 192.168.xxx.xxx (same ip as the pc)
directory - /movies
user ipbox
pass ipbox

**** then mounted the drive/directory

ftp'd back into the 9000 and opened var/media/movies ...and the test .ts file was indeed visible..

Can anyone confirm that I have done this correctly ?
If so ...how do I record and playback to the pc ?
Nothing happens when I press record on the remote control ...and I dont know if I can playback other formats placed in the 'movies' directory ..so can't test playback either ..
Any help would be most useful ..but please keep it simple as Im still learning my way around..

Vipersan,

Have you been able to get this working?
