MANCHESTER UNITED have admitted signing Carlos Tevez has become "over-complicated".

The Premier League champions are expected to complete their move for the West Ham ace within the next week.

Tevez, 23, will have a medical in Manchester on Wednesday ahead of his switch to Old Trafford.

But United chief executive David Gill claims the deal to sign the Argentina forward is difficult.

The Premier League insists any deal must be done directly between United and the Hammers rather than Kia Joorabchian, who owns Tevez’s economic rights.

The Red Devils' legal expert Maurice Watkins has remained in England to resolve the dispute.

Gill said: “We are working on it. In my opinion, it has become over-complicated.

“Effectively, we are trying to work with four parties - the player, West Ham, the company who own Carlos’ economic rights and the Premier League in order to sort it out.

“The process is ongoing. The player will have a medical at some point this week, then we will take it from there.

“We still have to sort out the paperwork but we are confident that can be achieved in the course of the next week or so.”
