Chris Coleman has been offered the vacant coach's job by Spanish Second Division side Real Sociedad.

Coleman, 37 was sacked by Premier League Fulham in April after four years in charge at Craven Cottage.

"He has been offered a three-year contract," Coleman's agent Alan Smith told BBC Five Live.

"Chris hasn't made his decision yet - he needs time to sleep on it and make sure this is what he wants to do for the next three years of his life."

Miguel Angel Lotina quit as Sociedad's coach following their relegation from the Primera Liga earlier this month.

Lotina had been appointed in October but was unable to stop Sociedad going down for the first time in 40 years.

"He was recommended to Sociedad by Wales coach John Toshack," added Smith.

"Chris is very excited - it's a very big move. Sociedad see Chris as a protege of John Toshack."

Coleman joined Fulham as a player in 1997 in a £2m move from Blackburn, but injuries suffered in a car crash in 2001 led to his retirement less then two years later.

He took over as manager in April 2003 following the departure of Jean Tigana.
