[HowTo] Duo² VFD Controller Update - 2013/07/22

Vu+ released a VFD Controller Upgrade on 2013/07/22.
This upgrade increases the remote control sensitivity.

Please follow the instruction to upgrade the VFD Controller

1. Update FirmwareUpgrade plugin and drivers to a version equal/newer than 2013/07/22
2. Reboot your Vu+ Duo² after plugin update
3. Open FirmwareUpgrade plugin (Menu --> Plugins(Extensions))
4. Select "VFD Controller" at start screen of plugin and continue with OK button
5. Press blue button to download upgrade file
6. Choose preselected file duo2.bin.vfd and start upgrade with OK button
7. Reboot your Vu+ Duo² after upgrade process

yes menu (main menu) plugins nothing there am I looking in the right place I have

media scanner,trrp ,streemtv add streem.youtube, open web if, picture player,ccprio maker, my tube,meo boot,lcd4 Linux,transcodeing set up,firmware upgrade and zapping mode

What image are you on because this could well be only applicable to the Blackhole image.

Its there on mine 2.0.5

Press the green button

In the plugin menu find FirmwareUpgrade

If its not there try a online image update.

all I get is firmware upgrade FPGA press green button (which I do )this gives me a list of storage devices (bin autofs etc and hdd are some these are directories if I select HDD then I get parent directory Backup .ds_stor and ._.ds_store

I think I now need to know where the file should be (what directory ) so I can select it and press blue to download it

if I select parent directory enigma2settingsbackup.tar.gz and press the blue button we get firmware does not exist

So you use the > button on the remote to go through the options like this

I asked earlier if you did a online update and your never answered.

Do that by Pressing Menu-Addons-Online Blackhole image update.

Do that then reboot and try the plugin firmware upgrade again.

Done installed or upgraded 0 packages press ok on your remote control to continue

rebooted via switch on back

menu firmware upgrade still FPGA

not sure if it is already installed thus getting these results apologies for not ans your question earlier

Only thing I can think of is your image is 2.0.4 and that does not have all the upgrade features.

Don't know this is fact I don't remember what it did have.

You need to upgrade to 2.0.5 check in forum for 2.0.5 Galaxy image
this is what Ferret is talking about step by step just follow instructions on screens. Start with green button pressing.
