CIFS Mounting - No passwords?

Hi.

I have been using E2 with the AZBox Premium for more than a year now and currently using OpenPli 2.1.

I just cannot get CIFS to work and after trying many different versions of tutorials am almost ready to throw in the towel.....unless some kind soul here can help.

I have two windows 7 pc's both in a workgroup and both with shared folders. Neither pc has a password or username.

Could somebody talk me through, line by line how to set up a CIFS mount and then how to mount it permanently (FSTAB????)

Not sure if it makes a difference but the AZBox has a Hard Disk installed internally.

Thanks in advance to anybody that can lend a hand.

Tried my "How to..."?

You may have missed stuff in your PC or router or the box itself...

Good luck!

P.S. CIFS and fstab - I have a problem with, too... So, try the NetMounting plugin... It does the job!!!;)

adding to fstab:

192.168.2.103:/myshare /mnt/nfs nfs ro,defaults 0 0

works fine for me
so

192.168.2.103:/myshare /mnt/nfs cifs ro,defaults 0 0

may work for you (if the cifs share requires no username or password)

But how can it work like that, if one must not only specify the IP & shared folder but also mount it somewhere in E2?
