Motorised Dish and 500HD

im having trouble to get my motorised dish going with the 500HD, its alot more advance compared to my clone 500

My clone 500 never used usals, I turned the dish by the dreambox if you get my drift

Regarding usals

iv hit a wall

for example this Latitude: 52.4988° and Longitude: -7.9896°

but in the reception settings it only gives you space for 3 last numbers

The reception settings layout is like this

Configuration mode Simple
Mode Positioner
Longitude 000.000
East
Latitude 000.000
North

I dont know what the east and north means either

its very confusing to me

A minus figure is a west figure so you need to change it to west.

Three places after the decimal is accurate enough.

thanks for that Ferret but i just cant get the USALS going, I go here http://www.dishpointer.com/ and put in where i live etc, get the Longitude and Latitude but no bloody luck, the sateillite just breezes past where I want it to stop

I then play around with the longitude by decreasing the values and it still passes right through where I want it it to stop

I think gave up on that and with try to stab positioner without USALS but its not working for me either

the thing has broken my heart :mecry:

1. go to Menu - Setup - Service Searching - Tuner configuration
- in Configuration mode select advanced
- turn off USALS (also in tuner configuration) and for every satellite select which number is Stored position

2. go to Positioner Setup and under Positioner storage select number which you designated in Tuner configuration for every satellite and manually find and store position

So is that right so far? Im unsure about the one in bold, they give you options to all the sats and for example if I pick Thor 0.8w I get another option called " Diseqc Mode"

When im in Positioner setup, do I save all the sats to " positioner Storage 1" or for example is it 1 for thor, 2 for 9e etc etc ?

Compare the coordinates it give you with the dish-pointer ones.

Did you use gotox on your old 500 if so that is basically usuals.

See Ferret, its a pain in the hole living in ireland, bar Dublin we dont have post codes

I got a great idea off a friend to use a car GPS to tell me my longitude and latitude
Longitude 7,59.404
Latitude 52.30,068

and I put them into the dreambox as follows

longitude 007.594
latitude 52.307

I tried them but no luck, I think the best thing for me is to get the stab positioner without USALS going

btw I really appreciate all the help im getting from you guys so far

a friend of mine thinks he knows where im going wrong

I finally got everything going right, its working brilliantly now
