Activation of the USB port on DM500HD
On the DM500HD there is a USB port but the USB controller has been disabled because there is no pin on the 5V over current protection (eg: max1823 on DM800) and the USB specification does not comply. By removing a resistor or two, you can simulate the missing chip, but in the case of a short circuit is no protection against the destruction of the Board 5V regulator exists, and one can easily imagine what would happen. If the USB specifications provide a current protection, it must have a reason.
That also means removing the resistors void the warranty and everything that happens from this point is done AT YOUR OWN RISK, no one will take responsibility for your actions.
You can here the standard PC motherboard USB port connected to a standard PC USB watch holder. The lower right pin is not connected in reality, you need to separate the legs to make a hole in the plug of the PC motherboard. On the back of the decoder one pre-cut window for a USB-provided receptacle, you should want to do a clean job.
In my decoder only R1001 with a NULL Ohms wiederstand was present, but should be a R1010 to be present, or both, you must remove both. They are coming FAULTA and FAULTB signals by the lack of voltage monitoring max1823 USB controller, it is enough that one is available to inform all the Broadcom controller off.
Looking at the USB specifications, the device that is to take the over-current protection is the hub connect directly rather than as a USB device, I recommend buying an external HUB fed that is equipped with an overcurrent protection, as the cheap Chinese no dedicated overcurrent has to implement.
