I recomend an internal Western Digital Caviar Green SATA HDD.

Ther is no IDE interface on DM8000.

Thanks Bpl, I noticed it is a SATA internal drive.
Will it accept 500 GB without overheating or better get a 320GB HDD. 7200RPM or 5400RPM.

;)

Yes no problem! I have a WD green power 640 GB in my DM8000.

1 TB will work to.

The WD green power disks is quiet, low heat and low power consumption.

I´ve got two dm8000.

One has Seagate 750 GB 3.5 Sata HDD
One has Samsung 1 TB 2.5 (Notebook) Sata HDD attached with a "Sharkoon HDD Vibe Fixer Pro" (2.5 --- 3.5).

2.5 Notebook hdd (
Samsung HM-M101MBB 1TB
wins:

Starts more quickly when idle (after standby) and you don´t hear it.
Additional plus: 2.5 disks don´t get as warm as 3.5.

3.5 - I always hear when recordings are being done and I often see Enigma2 "spinning wheel" when starting disk from idle state.
Will replace the 3.5 disk one day and get 2.5 + Sharkoon for that dm8000, too.
