my Icecrypt\Octagon (does it on both firmwares) locks up after a day or two - i.e i cannot change channel, and the pic is frozen when im running the OctaCAM plugin....(doesnt matter which version)

i have now had my box running without any plugins for over 3 days now, and it hasnt crash, so i can only assume its the plugin causing the problem.

anyone else?

I totally gave up on it early last summer. Switched to MGcamd for newcamd c/s and normal decryption, without even the smallest hiccup.

Hi Manik

I'm not sure which MgCamd version you have, but here's what I'm using:
MgCamd

and here's a little desktop utility I use for updates and the like:

MgExplorer

Hope you'll find them useful

Good luck

Mine is 1.35a, but I have not downloaded it from this forum. Anyway, whatever it is, just make sure the file does not have the (.sh) extension, as I've seen 'em floating around in some Octagon/Atevio/etc forums.

does the latest key file open Bulsat - ps thanks for your help mate

As my dish's motor been out of commission for the past few weeks, I can't confirm whether it currently does or not.
However, I remember that Bulsat's caid (060400) needed to be changed in Fortis clones' softcams to (0604), so if it's not working for you, my advice would be to open the softcam file and replace all instances of (060400) accordingly.
Moreover, please ensure that your MgCamd file is CHMOD to 777 and your softcam file is located in (/var/keys) and CHMOD to 755, which might not be necessary but that's what my current set up looks like.

No problem m8. I think I know what the problem is.
Your MgCamd config file is not properly set up.
Copy the below text into a new text file
PHP:
# EMM messages
#    00 don't show any EMMs (default)
# 01 show only valid EMMs
# 02 show valid and bad EMMs with complete data display
M: { 01 }

# ECM messages
#    00 don't show anything about ecm
# 01 normal mode, show pids processed, decoded ecm and cw
# 02 verbose mode, show valid and bad ECMs with data
C: { 01 }

# AU
# 00 disable, no emm pids processed
# 01 enable, emm pids always processed for soft-au and shared cards
# 02 auto, emm started only if channel cant be decoded
# 03 process emm pids for network cards update only
A: { 02 }

# key update (sum 01 or 02 with 04)

# 02 update all keys (used for valid PMK checking)
#    04 enable TPS au
#    + tps au pid
U: { 01 } 0x12c0

# config files folder (softcam, autoroll, ignore/priority)

E: { 15 }

# cache option, summ of:

# 04 Emm cache for network cards, do not resend the same emm twice, cache not cleared until restart

# 02 debug emm
# 04 debug network ecm
# 08 debug network emm
# 16 debug network login
# 32 show mem/cpu stats every 1 min
# 64 add timestamp to log messages
D: { 0 }

# box type

#W: {http://www.angelfire.com/crazy/aestps/key1.htm}

Then place it in (/var/keys) folder, and CHMOD it to 777.
Cold-restart the box, make sure MgCamd is started, and you should be OK.

Let me know what happens.

Good luck

With the way some vendors/forums post different 'flavours' of the same plugin, I'm not really surprised you don't have it:)
Unfortunately, I've had to roam the web obsessively for a few days until I managed to get the required files to get it to work.
For basic use like c/s, decrypting the few available channels across the arc, you'll need the MgCamd file, the config file (called 'mg_cfg') and the softcam file.
Give it a shot and let me know.

thanks mate, i realised that the problem might have been my Freesat card (white SLY card) causing the problem, as it crashed at the VIDEO GUARD DETECTED message the other day, and the handset\remote wouldnt respond - so ive been runnginS now without the card inserted for the last few days, and so far - no crashes!!!

fingers crossed.
