I take it its an E2 image

menu\setup\tuner configuration

choose in Frequency steps of 1000

if your in the UK only scan Qam64

if you got another box set up with c@ble on your network, enable network in scan option

then go to manual scan , put in the first frequency for your area, transponder. mine is 131 , change symbol rate for you either 6952 or 6887

then ok

should start getting channels straight away

Thanks m8.

I am in UK.

Freq is 531.000

Symbol Rate is 6952

QAM is 64.

I have tried manual scan but nothing comes up. I did get BBC One to just come up but nothin on screen.

Forgot to say, using sifteam E2 image 0.60. I am now going to try dgstation based firmware.

To get uk cable to work you need a uk cables.xml file on your box...
then you just select your local node
and away you go..

Just thinkin I don't think that is the problem. I have the option to scan for my area but it does not find anything.

I have tried the the box on direct line with no splitter but still nothing.
What tuner slot are you using and what make is your tuner ?

ive tried just about every E2 from day 1

i have always been able to scan on cable tuner, every time

menu\setup\service searching\tuner configuration\Tuner b philips tda10023

configuration mode = enabled
used service scan type = Frequency steps
frequency scan step size = 01000
scan qam16 - no
scan qam32 = no
scan qam64 = yes
scan qam128 = no
scan qam256 = no
scan SR6900 = no
scan SR6875 = no
scan additional SR = 6952
scan additional SR = 6887

ok
exit

then
menu\setup\service searching\manual scan

Tuner = Tuner b
type of scan = single transponder
Frequency = 131 ( this will be different for different areas , so you need to find the first frequency for your area )
Inversion = Auto
Symbol Rate = 6952 or 6887
Modulation = 64-qam
FEC = Auto
Network scan = yes ( Best to have a dreambox or other box that has already been scanned connected through your router )
Clear before scan = no
Only free scan - no

Note : if you dont have another box on your network that has been scanned,then,
Network scan = no

and you will have to scan the frequencies 1 by 1, by typing the 3 numbers in each scan..

or you can get this cables.xml file ( please remove mods if its not ok )

FTP it to usr/loca/share/enigma2 and replace existing one.
also
FTP same file to etc/tuxbox and replace existing one.

reboot GUI

then choose scan options , brute force, 6952, 6887

enjoy

Thanks for your help m8 I will try again tomorrow but I'm not holding my breath.

If my freq in my official receiver is 531,000 then in the 9000 then surely I put Frequency = 531

Your link to cable.xml is dead. That was quick to be deleted by rapidshare ! I'll pm you.

m8 if I do as you say I get the message

Nothing to scan!
Please setup your tuner settings before you start a service scan

I get this message with default cable.xml and with yours.

This morning I sat here with NLB 9850 and went through every single freq on the list and not once did I get a single reading in the strength bars.
I am now back on E2 sifteam 0.60.

I will send this tuner back to dealer on Monday morning and get a replacement.
I am going to try and get my hands on a dreambox500c to test with because I am sure it is the tuner which is at fault.

Now and then it does pick up BBC1 and BBC2 but they come on for a split second and go.
Signal strength is OK. Had a look in official samsung box and all bars green with good lock.
