Do ALL images need re-naming?

Hi, do ALL the images need renaming eg,, all noboot or uboot or kernel etc,,?
Also, is there a seperate img that controls the box hardware such as front panel display?

You have to rename it only if you load it through USB stick.
With flash tools, PC editor or FTP you do not have to.
NLB images shows the NLB version on the front display and you can also control the brightness
